The first Monitoring Committee of the Operational Programme “Information Society” was set up with the Joint Ministerial Decision No 13669 (Government Gazette 493/Β 27/04/2001) and the meeting convened on 14 May,2001, at the Grande Bretagne Hotel.

The topics of the agenda were the following:

• General issues, such as the Approval of the operation regulations
• Presentation of the Operational Programme “Information Society” and the management and implementation system 
• Presentation of the Programme complement

Decisions – Conclusions

• The Monitoring Committee of the Operational Programme “Information Society” after listening to the presentations of the Chair and the opinions of the members approved the internal operation regulations with some modifications of the text.
• The Monitoring Committee was informed about the Operational Programme and the application mechanisms and expressed its satisfaction about the procedures to-date as well as the methodical way of work followed so far.
• After the presentation of the Programme complement, the Monitoring Committee ascertained or adjusted respectively, the Programme complement per Measure.
• The Monitoring Committee approved the criteria for the incorporation of the Actions. 
• Finally, it approved the 2000 annual report with the incorporation of the comments made by the members of the Monitoring Committee, that is, the presentation of the financial table of the Operational Programme in Euros and the adjustment of the report’s structure to the requirements of the regulations.
