Source ΤCG

The Technical Chamber of Greece and the Athens Bar Association have recently organized a one-day conference with the topic: "Electronic Communications. How safe are they?" with the aim to develop a dialogue framework for the dissemination of New Technologies of Electronic Communications in Greece and to shield the safety of information and communication infrastructures.

The key conclusions of the organized event include some of the main points of policy and proposals to the state which are encompassed in 5 axes:

  • Adoption of model measures (both technical measures and procedures) and preventive controls to ensure confidentiality equivalent to those measures applied to other developed countries.
  • Support of the competent authorities with technical and material infrastructure, as well as with skilled workforce with specialized knowledge. It is not accidental that the respective agencies in USA employ penitent hackers to offer their services.
  • Systematic and continuous training of the competent judicial and police authorities on electronic crime and more specifically in cooperation with the corresponding agencies in technologically advanced countries in this sector.
  • Reinforcement of prevention from electronic crime with stricter punishments/ penalties for the users of wire tapping products.
  • Collaboration of all competent agencies and authorities as well as of the State, the Technical Advisor of the State and the Lawyers of the country.

For a more detailed presentation of the conference works, read the interventions that were made during the First, Second, Τhird and Fourth Session as well as the General Conclusions drawn up in this conference.
