Within the framework of Invitation 93 of the Operational Programme Information Society, the Municipality of Alexandroupoli of the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace announces that it places the tender document for the development of the Metropolitan Optical Fiber Network under public consultation until Monday, 15th May 2006.

The project is included in the wider action titled “Development of Supplementary Broadband Infrastructures (Development of Metropolitan Broadband Optical Fiber Networks) in less developed areas of the Greek Territory”, within the framework of action category 2: Development / Implementation of broadband networks of local access of Measure 4.2: “Development of Infrastructures of Local Access Networks” of the Operational Programme Information Society of the 3rd CSF.

The tender notice’s scope of works is the supply, installation and assurance of good operation of a network comprised of tubes, well, optical cables, terminating devices, welding devices, interconnecting devices, and network nodes, active equipment and equipment of possible wireless links as described in detail in the relevant Annexes.

The project budget amounts to € 1,669,446.50 (VAT inclusive).
