New study of the Observatory on the Information Society

On the basis of information by the World Economic Forum, Greece ranks 43rd among 115 countries in relation to the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for development.
This information is included in the Global Information Technology Report and offers the trends established in each of the countries investigated as regards the exploitation of ICT capabilities for development in the light of increased global competition.
The benchmarking tools utilized to organize the list included three major parameters: macroeconomic status, institutional environment and ICT infrastructure in each of the countries, as well as the preparation of the governments, companies and citizens to participate in and benefit from ICT developments.
The Observatory for the Information Society analyzed the data of that report, making due note of the ranking (43rd) of our country and its performance in relation to the parameters utilized in the Network Readiness Index (NRI).
