Members of the Committee
Following a proposal of the Prime Minister, the Ministerial Council formed the Committee for the planning of the strategy and the development of Information Technology at a national level and especially in the public sector. The relevant decision was published in the Official Gazette, issue 116 of the 29th of June 2004.
The members of the Committee are:
The Digital Planning Secretary Special, of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Prof. V. Asimakopoulos, who is the coordinator.
The Secretary General for Public Administration and E-Governance, of the Ministry of Interior, Public Administration and Decentralization, M.V. Andronopoulos
The Secretary General for the Information Technology Systems, of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, M. D. Anagnostopoulos
The Secretary General for Research and Technology, of the Ministry of Development, M. I. Tsoukalas and
The president of the limited liability company “Information Society Ltd” (ISLtd), M. K.Doukas.
The Committee has the following tasks:
- Setting the general directions and objectives of the Government’s policy on Information Technology in different fields such as education, research and technology.
- Setting the context for the development and operation of the Public Sector’s Information Systems.
- Supporting the public institutions in the development and productive operation of the Information Systems.
- Promoting the application of the Information Society in the Public Sector through the respective Operational Program.
- Developing the strategy for the convergence of R&T with the development of Information Technology on a national level.
- Preparing the proposal for the reshaping of the institutional framework in order to ensure a more effective implementation of the “Information Society” operational program in the context of the 3d Community Support Framework (CSF).
