Parliament – Law amendment regarding the preferential access of students in the internet

The law amendment that has been recently submitted to the Parliament relates to possibility of providing preferential Internet access to undergraduate and postgraduate students of Universities by using infrastructures of private and public agencies.
The said programme titled “Diodos” foresees the provision of this preferential internet access to students for a time period equal to their years of study whilst in the case of postgraduate students the duration of this preferential access to internet is set to two at least or four years depending on their degree (master or PHD).
The law amendment also provides for the establishment of a special Committee in the Secretariat of Research and Technology of the Ministry of Development, which will monitor the implementation and development of the programme and it will submit proposals to the minister of Development pertaining to the programme’s improvement and adjustment to the new facts.
