The Deputy Minister of the Economy & Finance, Mr. Antonis Bezas, and the General Secretary of Information Systems, Mr. Demosthenis Anagnostopoulos, stated that this project aims to significantly simplify Customs formalities which will be carried out electronically, without the physical presence of citizens at Customs Houses. The data received by the Customs services will be transmitted to other government services, thus bypassing excessive bureaucratic procedures.

- Electronic submission of information required on Custom’s documents. User authorization is a prerequisite.
- Use of uniform clearance-warranty for simplifying procedures
- Payment of tariffs with automatic bank debiting.
- Supporting and other documents will be scanned by ISIS and then returned to users.
- The physical presence of goods in the Customs premises will not be required.
With the use of new technologies, the GSIS offers a more effective work environment for Customs employees and simplifies the existing infrastructure thus reducing the cost for operations and maintenance of the information systems.
The total budget of this project is € 6,091,701.69, including VAT (19%). The project is funded by the O.P. “Information Society” in the framework of the 3rd CFS.
