Provision of digital services to enterprises through KEP (Citizen Service Centers)


“From early 2007, Greek enterprises will be capable of making their transactions with the 59 chambers of the country more quickly and easily, through ΚΕP and through digital services that have been implemented within the framework of 2006-2013 Digital Strategy”, Professor Vassilis Assimakopoulos, Digital Planning Secretary Special, announced.

In specific, the Digital Planning Sectretariat Special within the framework of 2006-2013 Digital Strategy and Goal 2 “Provision of Digital Services to enterprises” financed with € 1.7 million the development of the “Integrated Collaboration Service between Chambers and Citizen Service Centers (KEP)”.

The new services and benefits for the enterprises by utilizing the existing portal named “Business Information and Servicing” of the Central Association of Greek Chambers include the provision of business information regarding useful subject matters such as: news, Chamber news, sector studies, funding programs, offer-demand of products, services and business collaborations from all over the world, etc.

The information services of the Central Association of Greek Chambers are already in operation and accessible through the Internet, at http://www.e-boss.gr.

Enterprises having no internet connection may access the relevant information through KEP as well.
In addition, within the framework of the same action of the Digital Strategy, all enterprises of the country (approximately 800,000) will be able of realizing integrated transactions with the Chamber to which they belong from any location in Greece through KEP. The categories of the services supported, include:

  • Issuance of Certificates by the Chambers,
  • Checking of the Enterprises’ Trade Names at a local and national level,
  • On-line payment of liabilities (subscriptions) to Chambers, etc.

Apart from KEP, the services will be provided by means of a simple phone call to 1564.

The project benefits for the enterprises are significant since both the transportation and servicing time is reduced. The enterprises may receive immediately certificates, business information, etc. by addressing to one and only point. The largest number of services has already been operating for the 49 Chambers whilst until the end of the year all services shall have been expanded to the remaining 10 Chambers, covering a total of 59 Chambers.

On the occasion of the project’s complete operation, the Digital Planning Secretary Special, Prof. Vassilis Assimakopoulos stressed out as follows: “This intervention of Digital Strategy forms one more additional step within the framework of the effort to improve the services provided to enterprises, by utilizing in practical manner new technologies. Our goal is to further improve the number of transactions that may be fully completed through the Internet, so as any enterprise (small or large) -without any bureaucratic procedures intervening- is capable of receiving information, applications, and certificates from their personal computes at the office”.
