Ex post Evaluation
Presentation of the Procedure


Ex post evaluation (article 43 of EU Regulation 1260/99) relates to the intervention and is subject under the responsibility of the European Commission in collaboration with the member state and the managing authority.


The objective of ex post evaluation is to analyze the use of resources, the effectiveness and efficiency of interventions and their impact as well as their usefulness and duration.

It is carried out based on the methodological proposals of the Commission, in cooperation with the member states, in a coordinated and homogenous manner so as lessons are learned both with regard to interventions and the policy of the economic and social cohesion in its entirety.

Ex post evaluation is carried out by independent evaluators and must be competed within three years the latest upon completion of the programmed period (2009).
