The InfoSoc Human Network, e-Activists, was designed by the InfoSoc Operational Programme Managing Authority in 2004. In the European knowledge-based society, a key condition for economic and social convergence is citizen involvement.
Its aim is to create a community of executives and citizens with opinions, views, interests and digital skills who can potentially be utilised when implementing the Operational Programme in Greece.
The Human Network does not only relate to executives with scientific training in ICT but primarily focuses on mobilising all those who use the internet, have core ICT skills and use them everyday in different sectors of production (businessmen, public and private sector executives, researchers, students) with a core focus being the region, so as to highlight initiatives which utilise personal abilities in a complementary manner.
By participating in e-Activists one can directly or indirectly take part in InfoSoc action in ways that suit your own priorities based on your own availability. By joining the network members receive updates about:
- the InfoSoc Operational Programme
- international affairs in the InfoSoc sector
- best practices for utilising ICT in specific production activities.
The network provides its members with the opportunity to consult with the wide public sector on matters of InfoSoc policy and its application to the day-to-day life of citizens. At the same time it allows members to participate in actions and projects under the programme and to jointly develop initiatives via special discussion panels.
Membership is free and data is protected under the relevant legal framework.
