The Special Managing Service of the Operational Programme “Information Society” and the Institute of Social Protection and Solidarity of the Ministry of Health – within the framework of the project for the supply and distribution of digital television decoders (Invitation No. 158) to people with Disabilities - organize an one-day conference for the information and awareness of the public on the following subject-matter: “Television for all – Decoders for People with Disabilities”.

On Thursday, 29/6/06 the Special Secretariat for the Information Society presented during an one-day conference the first results from project pertaining to the “Documentation, utilization and promotion of Greek Culture through the use of Information and Communications Technologies”. 

IS S.A. informs that an unrestricted tender was announced whose awarding criterion is the most economically advantageous offer for the selection of a contractor for the project: “Development of a Marine Geographical Information System of the Hydrographic Service of the Hellenic Navy” of the OPIS.

The multifold and integrated development of broadband infrastructures, content and demand on behalf of citizens and enterprises forms a key priority of the Special Secretariat for the Information Society, since broadband access is a prerequisite for the implementation of the Digital Strategy in our country during the 2006-2013 time period.

The Special Management of the Operational Programme “Information Society” (SMS of OPIS) with the aim to complete its staffing, intends to transfer employees from the Public Sector or from Agencies of the Wider Public Sector in line with article 7(2a) of Law 2860/2000 (Government Gazette 251/Α/14.11.2000).

Within the framework of Invitation 93 of the Operational Programme Information Society, the Municipality of Argostoli of the Region of Ionian Islands announces that it places the tender document for the development of the Metropolitan Optical Fiber Network under public consultation until Monday, 29th May 2006.

The Municipality of Kalloni in Lesbos announces that it places under public consultation the tender notice for the sub-project “Collection and documentation of environmental material of the Municipality of Kalloni” of the project “Collection, digitalization, documentation and disposition of environmental material of the Municipality of Kalloni in Lesbos” that has been included in measure 2.4 “Regional Geographical Information Systems and innovative actions”, action-category 1: Actions for the development of pilot and innovative applications”, sub-category 1.2: “Actions of Tourism Culture” of the OP Information Society.

The Special Secretariat for the Information Society held an one-day conference for the presentation and consultation of the particularly significant intervention relating to the Training in Basic Information and Communication Technology Skills for Disabled People having vision problems from all over Greece.

The SMS of IS informs that the Invitation for the submission of proposals until 10/7/06 for the project “Advanced Telecommunication Services for Citizens and Enterprises” of OPIS of the 3rd CSF in line with article 46 of the General Regulation 1260/1999 of the EC; the project budget amounts to € 10,000,000.00.

The SMS of IS informs the Ultimate Beneficiaries and interested parties that from Monday 15th May 2006, the service will be located at a new address, 23-25 Lekka street, Post Code 105 62 Athens.
