The Special Secretary of the Information Society, Mr. Vassilis Asimakopoulos, in his statements, referred to the need to perform a digital leap on the occasion of the recent presentation of the world ranking of the Network Readiness Index.

The SMS “IS” informs that Invitation 163 in Measure 3.2 for the submission of proposals by virtue of article 46 of the General Regulation 1260/ 1999 of the E.U. has been published. The invitation regards the following categories of actions of measure 3.2:

The SMS “IS” informs that Invitation 164 with a budget of 8,000,000 € has been published, with Ultimate Beneficiaries the Independent Administrative Authorities and Higher State Authorities and date of start of submission of proposals is the April 25th 2006, within the framework of category 5 of Measure 2.2 of the OPIS: “Actions regarding the administrative servicing” by virtue of article 46 of the General Regulation 1260/ 1999 of the Ε.C.

In connection with Call No. ‘93 of the Operational Program (O.P) “Information Society”, the Municipality of Veroia, Region of Central Macedonia, announces that the Tender Document regarding the construction of a Metropolitan Fiber Optic Network will be available for public consultation until April 25, 2006.

On the basis of information by the World Economic Forum, Greece ranks 43rd among 115 countries in relation to the application of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for development.

The Ad hoc Secretary for the Information Society, Prof. V. Asimakopoulos, announced an intervention concerning the development of specialized broadband services for people with disabilities.

The Add-hoc Administration of the O.P. “Information Society” (IS) advises that the Call has been publicized. It concerns the above named project budgeted at €5,00 million, which is under framework Action 3: Supply of Telecommunication services to special groups of people; Measure 4.3: “Advanced Telecommunication Services to the Citizen and Businesses”, O.P. “Information Society”, article 46 of the Council (EC) Regulation 1260/1999.

The Ministry of the Environment announces that the consultation is now open on the sub-project no.2 “Electronic Management and Supply through the Internet of the Aerial Photographs and Map Images of the Hellenic Cadastral and Mapping Organization (OKXE)". The sub-project has a budget of 1,500,000.00 Euros.

The Ministry of Agricultural Development & Foodstuffs announces the public consultation on sub-project no. 4 “Creation of Internet Infrastructure and Setting-up of Node for Public and Agencies Access”, attached with a budget of 1,300,000.00 Euros.

In the context of Call No. 93 of the O.P. “Information Society”, the Municipality of Naousa announces that the public consultation on the Tender Document regarding the construction of the Metropolitan Fiber Optic Network will be open until Tuesday, April 18,  2006.
