The physical scope of the project also includes the supply of relevant value added services for the access of the regional enterprises to the Information Society and concerns approximately 2,600 small enterprises -200 from each region.
The “METEHO” project, financed by the Operational Programme “Information Society, in the framework of Measure 2.4, includes 1 sub-project which is related to the support, as well as eight sub-projects which include all the support actions required for the smooth implementation of the state support and more specifically:
- The planning of the act
- The implementation of publicity and sensitization actions
- The support of the phase of submitting and evaluating proposals made by potential ultimate recipients
- The evaluation of proposals submitted by the potential final recipients of state support
- The information support for the management of the act
- The carrying out of audits and certifications of concluding approved projects of the ultimate recipients
- The operation of the evaluation, monitoring and recipient committees of the support services and supplies of the project.
The candidate ultimate recipients can lodge a financing application supported by the mechanism of the Information Society SA, which is the Ultimate Beneficiary. The projects which are being implemented will be selected through clearly defined procedures. The support will be given after the signing of the relevant contracts, the implementation of the projects and the certification of conclusion and completion of their physical and financial scope.
During the evaluation of the final beneficiaries the support – quota of the women’s entrepreneurship is anticipated.
The budget of the project is approximately 27.5 m€ (public expenditure: 14.5 m€): 26 m€ for the sub-project concerning the support (50% public expenditure), that is 2 m€ per region and 1.5 m€ for the other 8 sub-projects of the support actions.

Progress of the project

The Information Society SA has been determined by the ministry of the Interior, Public Administration and Decentralization, the ministry of the Economy & Finance and the Information Society SA as the Ultimate Beneficiary of the “METEXO” project. A programming contract has been signed by the ministry of the Interior, Public Administration and Decentralisation and the Information Society SA which regulated procedural issues and defines their cooperation framework.
A joint ministerial decision is expected presently between the minister of the Interior, Public Administration and Decentralisation and the minister of Economy and Finance with which the programme will be called and the period of submitting proposals on behalf of the potential final recipients of the state support (enterprises).
| Results of the project |

The project has a strong innovative character and intense regional dimension given the fact that its budget is equally allocated to the 13 regions of the country. Through this, the equal evaluation of the action by the enterprises in remote areas is expected to be secured. These enterprises often face difficulties in being integrated in actions of state support in the framework of procedures of comparative evaluation of “national range”.
The reason for the above is mainly the participation of a big number of enterprises based in the main metropolitan centers of the country which often meet the relevant evaluation criteria of “national range” much easier.
The “METEHO” programme aiming at small and very small enterprises of the regions with 2-10 employees gives the opportunity to utilise software applications in order to improve basic procedures of their enterprise, such as the financial and commercial management, warehouse and client management, payroll etc.
