The Information Society offers enormous benefits to Europe's less developed regions and rural and isolated areas, yet commercial investment in broadband infrastructure for these areas is problematic.

Launched by four European Commissioners, this Conference and Exhibition will investigate how the strategic use of ICT can support regional and local development, ease infrastructure and geographical handicaps and make these areas more attractive to business and individuals alike.
